“Hennessy IT Consulting have asked me to provide a testimonial of their services to UWS as a client and I am delighted to do so. My role during that period was Internal Project Manager responsible for the upgrade of the Unit4 Business World suite reporting directly to the Director of Finance.
UWS had been operating the
Unit4 Business World solution for several years and required to initiate a
major upgrade project which was seen almost as a system rewrite. As a
consequence, UWS identified that this would require major changes to process,
system configuration and therefore significant staff knowledge exchange for
both end users and system administrators.
It became clear following the
project initiation phase for this upgrade that specialist knowledge only
available externally to our organisation would be required to achieve project
success and therefore business success. UWS explored the market place for Business
World consultancy services to support us with this challenge and we identified Hennessy
IT Consulting as being ‘best of breed’ with regard to the specialist knowledge
required within the parameters of quality, affordability and time constraints.
The major strengths of HITC
were their commitment to the project, their quick grasp of our current
operating procedures and their enthusiasm for ensuring through their knowledge
and expertise that UWS would succeed in achieving all the project deliverables
and additional business benefit where possible.
Ultimately, the upgrade was
delivered on time and within budget. ‘Go live’ date was immovable – start of
the new financial year. HITC worked tirelessly, confidently and conscientiously
in partnership with the UWS team to ensure success for the University.
What were the key elements leading to success? Notwithstanding the ability and efforts of the UWS team, the major contribution from HITC centred around their customer-focussed, knowledgeable team that recognized the need to share the ownership of the business challenge through partnership, empathy and commitment. They supplied all of this evidenced by the measured successes of the project by project closure time.
